There is limited parking, and I am not too sure where else you would park if it fills up.
Difficulty : Moderate, there are a lot of switchbacks going up to the top, but saw plenty of people jogging up or down and people with little kids.
About : My friend and I had a great time on this hike. We went on a weekday afternoon as neither of us had school or work. It wasn’t very strenuous but the scenery was enjoyable. We did go in the middle of winter, it was warm enough for shorts and a tank top, but we started out a little cold until we got the blood pumping. Once you get away from the creek at the bottom there is little to no overhead shelter so I could see it getting very hot in the summer.
Once you get to the top the entire park has a lot of trails that vary in length and difficulty. At the top there is a reservoir (you are not aloud to fish, swim or even go near the water) and you also get a good view of the ocean. At the top there is also port-a-poties (which is great for those that drink a lot of water!), picnic tables, and a drinking fountain. The view on top is great all around.
It wasn’t very crowded, but the people we ran into were very friendly, dogs were occasionally on and off leash but all were well behaved. There actually are a few trails that allow dogs off leash, just make sure you know which ones. I know I will be bringing my dogs up there next time. The park is open to mountain bikers, hikers, dogs and equestrians so keep you eyes open for horses and bikers.
